Groupe AMH was founded in 1992 by a group of disabled people and their supporters. At the time, there were only a dozen or so of them, with no resources, and they found refuge with the Union des Femmes du Maroc, whose presidency was held by one of their two mentors, Mme Aicha Alaoui Terrab, while the other was Mme Donna Sebti.
Recognized as a public utility in 1996, Amicale Marocaine des Handicapés has enjoyed remarkable growth and in 2015 evolved into Groupe AMH, an association committed to social entrepreneurship and active in a variety of fields.
