Our reforestation project
Today, according to theADEME* (French Environment and Energy Management Agency), the IT sector accounts for 4% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Given the impact that digital technology has on the environment, we decided to take action by launching a reforestation project. To do this, we called on the company Reforest'Action.
Symalean is participating in a reforestation project in the region of Piura, located in northern Peru. A region which is facing climatic challenges, but which is also affected by desertification, according to Reforest'Action. Symalean has chosen to plant trees in Peru in order to fight against these phenomena.
In order to involve as many people as possible in our action, we have given each of our customers the opportunity to plant 10 trees in Peru. A gesture to thank them for their trust, but also so that they contribute to our Green IT approach. A simple cooperation via a code or a link allowing them to plant their trees.

The missions of Reforest'Action
Reforest'Action is a company created in 2010 and certified B Corp. Their goal is to preserve and restore forests in France and around the world. They work with over 2000 companies and have planted over 6 million trees with their support. In Europe, their projects aim to restore degraded forests (storms, diseases, fires, ...). In addition, they support the local economy and strengthen biodiversity. Internationally, their projects promote the socio-economic development of local populations and contribute to the fight against deforestation.

Towards a Green IT approach
First of all, Green IT or responsible digital technology are actions or techniques that make it possible to reduce the social, economic and environmental footprint of digital technology.
Symalean Group has defined Green IT as one of its strategic axes for the year 2021 and the years to come.
This is why we are committed to integrating Green IT in all our activities, but also in the design of our products. We also want to work with all our stakeholders to raise awareness and involve them in our Green IT approach.
